JAPAN 2016 | DAY 6

Brian and I ended up coming back home around 3AM from spending time with Kiku and Oka (for my last night). I had to wake up at 4:30AM to head to the train station to get to Narita Airport so I decided to stay up until my flight.
When we got back home, Tenpachi was waiting for us and we ended up grabbing light snacks and drinks from the local store. Both Brian and Tenpachi stayed up with me until I had to leave. We were so cracked out that we were just laughing at anything we were saying to each other. I was very grateful.

Time flew and it was time for me to head out. Saying goodbye to the guys was pretty hard because Japan was such an amazing trip and I didn’t want to leave. I had a lot of time to reflect on my short trip to Japan while I rode the train back to Narita Airport.
There are a lot of things I learned from this trip. One of the many things that caught me was how courteous and kind Japanese people are. That really blew me away during this trip. I’m the type of guy that sees the little things in life (i.e little act of kindness/action) so I loved the way Japanese people interacted with one another. Everyone seemed to be super polite and nice in Japan. Whenever I saw people drop others off at the station, they would patiently bow and wait for the person until they were out of sight. When people accidentally bumped into you, they would be very apologetic. People would always say “thank you” or “sorry”. People were very welcoming and cheerful. Everywhere you go, people were open to help you. I’ve never traveled anywhere where people were this sincere. I can usually have a short temper whenever it comes to road rage, for example. I need to honk (why else would they invent such a thing, right?). But there are so many times where I can just suck it up, smile, and let things go. Japan really challenged me to change certain aspects of my life.
This was such an awesome trip. Even though it was a little shy of 6 days, I had such a rejuvenating time for my soul. As tired and delirious I was going to the airport, I was excited for my two week trip to Korea. Thanks for taking the time to be a part of my adventure through this blog. Until next time!
p.s:
Without Brian, I would have been completely screwed. Brian is one of the most talented guys I know – especially because of his linguistic capabilities. He planned most of the itinerary for our trip and was the best translator you can ask for. I’m very grateful for him and I highly recommend him as a travel partner. And thanks to our good friend Tenpachi for providing the best hospitality in the midst of his busy schedule. Brian and I would have been stuck in a random Airbnb with horrible-smelling towels if it wasn’t for him. It’s such a blessing to have such friends in your life. Cherish them!
